I obtained my master's degree at the University of Eastern Finland majoring in Biochemistry and Structural Biology. During my master's degree, I mainly focused on protein crystallography, specifically, on the Testosterone-Antibody Fab Complex. After this I briefly worked in VIVA Biotech (Shanghai, China), where I largely focused on the small molecule drug screening using X-ray crystallography.

I did my Ph.D. at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, France, specializing in Microbiology from 2018 to 2022. My research focused on the molecular mechanisms of bacteria type II secretion system (T2SS), from Klebsiella spp. My work specifically focused on the structure and assembly of the inner membrane platform and studied the substrate recognition mechanism using molecular genetics and a range of biochemical tools.
