In the Ilangovan lab we are interested in protein-nucleic acid complexes that are involved in essential and adaptive cellular processes such as DNA replication and conjugative DNA transfer in human pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis and Streptococcus pneumonia. We use a combination of biochemical, biophysical techniques and structural techniques to study these complexes.
