Research

The Ilangovan lab based in the Blizard institute is part of the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences. We use structural, biochemical and bipphysical techniques to address the present day crisis that is anti-bacterial resistance (ABR). We are particularly interested in protein-nucleic acid complexes that are involved in essential and adaptive cellular processes such as DNA replication and conjugative DNA transfer in human pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis and Streptococcus pneumonia.
